General Rules:
1. All of your grip feat attempts that are to be submitted MUST be performed on video. The video quality needs to be VERY clear, i.e. lighting, good resolution, etc. We don’t want any questionable performances based on video quality. Test and re-test your settings, angles, battery, etc. so that you are sure the video quality will turn out good and if necessary find someone to help film the feat (who knows what they are doing).
2. You are responsible for hosting your own video via Youtube or some other source that gripcerts.com can simply embed onto our site (Youtube recommended). In addition, we recommend that you backup all of your “cert” videos somewhere else besides your online source to keep them safe. If Youtube, or your other chosen online source has technical difficulties and we do not have a video displayed of your cert for an extended period of time, we will be forced to remove the cert from the list, as Gripcerts.com is intended to furnish video documentation as proof of the feat. Please keep copies of your cert video.
3. All implements that do not have the nominal weight listed on them must be weighed on a scale that has been “zeroed out” on camera first (digital recommended). If you are using Brand Name equipment to load your weight on and the weight of the devise is generally known in the grip community, it will not be necessary to weigh said device. You are allowed to document the weight after the lift. Please show all sides/edges of the scale if posible while weighing to ensure nothing else is resting on the scale with your implement otherwise it will be up to the judges discretion.
4. The implement must be measured on video (where applicable) which can be performed at anytime before or after the lift ... or during if you want to show off.
5. Do your best to keep the implement in frame at all times. If the implement breaks frame, again it will be left up to the judges.
6. We must be able to see who is performing the feat – don’t film from only the waist down or elbow down, etc. without showing your face at some point so that we can see who is performing the feat.
7. Gym chalk/climbing chalk is all that is allowed, NOTHING else. No tape or wrist straps allowed. Elbow sleeves are okay as they are far away from the hand. There will be an additional set of rules for bending.
8. You must state your intentions on the video, loud and clear which can be done before or after the lift as well. You may simply say “My name is … and I am performing this lift/bend for gripcerts.com” or a variation of … you must say your name and gripcerts.com. The cert will not be accepted otherwise.
9. In consideration of gripcerts.com being fresh/new, the rules are subject to change until most of the bugs are worked out. Anyone who performs a feat under the current rules in place at that time will be “grand-fathered” in If the rules consequently change after the feat is performed. However, it will be noted that the feat was performed under the “old rules”. You can simply re-certify under the newer rules if you would like the note to be removed.
Cheating:
If we find out that you cheated on a cert attempt, you will be infinity removed from gripcerts.com. That’s all there is to it. Strike ONE you’re out.
Thank You
